Content design, structure and visual communication elements for the Stillbirth CRE Safer Baby Bundle
The Safer Baby Bundle is an initiative led by Stillbirth CRE to address the practice gaps in stillbirth prevention across maternity services, the centrepiece of which is the online eLearning platform. The Bundle aims to reduce the number of preventable stillbirths after 28 weeks’ gestation, by 20% by 2023.
The work began by restructuring the existing learning material and updated research with re-written content and visual graphics for the SAFER BABY BUNDLE and IMPROVE modules. Our audience included a diverse range of professionals - midwives, obstetrician gynaecologists, GPs and nurses.
To support the online learning components I designed supporting resources – care pathways, decision-making flowcharts, clinical visual tools. I also provided designed artwork for the promotions and marketing materials.
The rollout of the Bundle is well underway. Approximately 4,000 midwives and obstetricians have completed the online training program, with 82 maternity services actively engaged in implementation of the Bundle across QLD, NSW and VIC; equating to approximately half of all births in these states. The program is endorsed by the federal government as a key strategy in their National Stillbirth Action Plan.
